I’m surprised nobody has gone back to the throttle body injector for the secondary setup. The advantages of port injection over throttle body injection would be handled by the direct injectors.

My dad, on cold winter drives, would partially block the radiator on our old family car with a piece of cardboard, because the cooling system wouldn’t get hot enough for the thermostat to open.

Very occasionally, you’ll need to fix the fuse box which requires a handful of your scrap parts, but because NERO camps are normally surrounded by cars this isn’t too much of an issue.

A couple of automotive hacks I’ve heard over the years. When the fuel/air mixture was too rich at high altitude. a. one owner removed the air filter to allow more air in. b. another super glued the carb jet closed and re-opened it with a stick pin (smaller hole, less gas).

Note that a main bearing girdle isn’t a requirement (and aren’t even employed) for most Duramax engines built to handle big horsepower and torque, but it is a great peace of mind item. As the old adage goes, you can’t overbuild an engine.

It would have been nice if these encounters were a bit more puzzle-like, but as it is there’s still plenty of room for creativity with traps and using the environment as an advantage. In any case, even when equipped with the best gear, unloading a full clip from an LMG as the music intensifies and hundreds of freakers consume your entire peripheral vision never fails to get the heart pumping.

Back in the days before 1986, a leaded compound was added to higher-grade petrol to reduce knock. This was before petrol was marketed with RON numbers. Those days, it was called super instead of 91 or 98. The compound was highly toxic tetraethyl lead. It is amazing at reducing knock, especially in piston aircraft and race cars. Unfortunately, some of the best stuff is also the most toxic, like asbestos. Due to the toxicity and that lead and other heavy metals are catalyst poisons, it was banned from 1986 when the catalytic converter was introduced into Australia. Leaded aviation fuel is common, but the car race fuel is currently being phased out.

And with the average UK diesel car nearly seven years old* and diesel engines accounting for 40% of all licensed cars, fuel injection system repair can prove a fruitful source of revenue for repairers.

The handsome fifth-generation Micra now has a little more street cred with the new N-Sport edition, but what we really want to see is a proper performance Micra. Something to go up against the Fiesta ST or Renault Clio RS. Better still, why not do a Juke-R and shove the GT-R powertrain in there? There won’t be much room for shopping, but the car would definitely be a hoot!

While the Space-Cab was four-wheel-drive only, the Crew-Cab could be had in two-wheel-drive but the majority you see for sale these days are, in fact, four-wheel-drive and, it’s fair to say, the Colorado was a pretty capable off-roader in its own right.
