You frequently recommend Shell V-Power petrol. However, it costs 10p per litre more than unleaded, at my local Shell garage. This means an additional £3 per fill up. I have a Nissan Note 2014 and I regularly fill up with Shell unleaded and have, for some time, put a shot of Redex in the tank. This costs me £1 for each fill. (I get the Redex discounted at my local Supermarket.) I’m getting 50+ MPG  doing mainly town driving with the occasional 30 mile round trip on country roads. Would there be any advantage in switching to V-Power petrol?

These types of diesel fuel additives are responsible for improving fuel combustion and reducing the ignition delay time. The higher the cetane boost, the better the diesel engine efficiency. Apart from improving the engine performance, cetane boosters cut off smoke emissions, deposits, and slow down the fuel consumption without compromising the quality.

Hmm I’m not sure how well the fuel mist at the throttle body would clean the backs of intake valves either. Presumably intake-runner mount port injectors are the best at hitting the backs of valves with fuel mist before it gets super atomized and lost in the rush of air into the cylinder. I’d love to hear an actual powertrain engineer chime in on the matter.
